Antonymous, yes, it is very similar. I’m usually very sceptical of facial exercises, because there is no scientific proof they work yet, and, when done wrong, they can do more harm than good. But, I was really impressed with this workout. I believed it helped with circulation and lymphatic drainage a bit. My skin definitely looked much better afterwards!

Is such much muscle workout beneficial for the skin due to the improved circulation, oxigenation and lymphatic drainage?
Thanks.

It is impossible to say for sure. But I’d say the risk is a bit higher, especially if the therapist doesn’t clean her hands properly beforehand.

Do you think though that somebody with oily/combo skin might break out though?

Hannah, no, I didn’t have any pimples afterwards. The therapist cleaned her hands before touching my face. Plus, my skin is dry so I don’t get pimples easily these days (apart from the hormonal ones during that time of the month).

Thanks for sharing those tips. I’m thinking of buying the dermaroller indeed. It could be very handy.

Did you have any problems with getting pimples/clogged pores after face gym? I think this sounds interesting except for the fact that I’ve been told (and read) that you shouldn’t touch your face because that puts bacteria and from your hands onto your face and can end up clogging pores and worsen acne.If somebody is going to be touching my face for a 1/2 hour I’d be concerned about that even though I only have a few little pimples on my combination/oily skin.

Oh! the dermaroller! My mom and I have heard of those. You know you can but them for like under $20 (US)! Did you know that besides improving circulation,it will increase penetration for all you serums? That’s great for increasing the effectiveness of things like pep-tides,since those have a hard time really penetrating to work.

Did you know you can make your own frankincense water? You just have to really dilute it. My mom is really into essential oils and she once told me that frankincense is anti-wrinkle. 🙂

Joke: Why did Frankenstein excel in school?
Answer: He had franken(sense).

You can also buy jade-rollers. Miranda Kerr (famous model) uses one. 😉

Face gym when you said “improves circulation and tones” sounded a lot like acupuncture somehow. You can get special acupuncture for the face. I’ve heard that it can help get rid of wrinkles too! 😉
