Claire, it really depends on what you use. Michelle has a very minimalistic routine and she pretty much uses only sunscreen in the morning so penetration isn’t affected. But if you like to use active like vitamin C, I’d use a gentler cleanser.

What’s your opinion on not using any cleanser to wash our faces in the morning? Does it affect products penetration when we apply it after washing our faces just with water?

I was happy to read that her skin care routine is basic and minimal. My mother had a similar morning skin care routine and an even sparser evening one but she hardly had any problem. These days, ads and sales pitches (in the guise of fact-giving articles) make women (and, increasingly, men) that we need a dozen products in the morning (that’s before makeup) and another dozen products at night to take care of our skin. So, this was a lovely welcome.
