So I want to try out garnier’s whole blends line, but now they’re shampoos have silicone! My hair is curly/wavy and medium/fine density, and it doesn’t get super product buildup but definitely some. Should I still use the shampoo??

Silicones and sulfates aren’t a big deal to me, BUT i get some product buildup once in awhile due to my low porosity strands. Of course I remove them with surfactants, but if I wanted to use a shampoo with silicones would it still remove the buildup? Or should I just opt for a shampoo without?

I went all natural water only,a gentle Castille with calendula etc , hair was dryer than ever , tried sulphate free and no cones , sulphate free shampoo very drying and the conditioner too I had to add heaps of macadamia or jojoba oil tried moo goo and my hair just constantly looked like crap. Then I remembered when my hair looked and felt best when i used Pantene about 15 years ago so back to pantene I go with heaps of cones . I use the conditioner as a leave in and my hair looks amazing. The question that brings me here is , do I have to shampoo before applying an oil treatment or will the silicone block it from absorbing any moisture or is that a myth? Can u recommend a brand of shampoo that’s not over drying for silicone user?

Marcus, oh no! Sorry to hear silicones don’t work for you. But at least now you know what to avoid.
