Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit features a concealer and a sheer pressed powder – very handy for travelling!

The concealer is made up of:

  • Emollients: Petrolatum and other synthetic emollients moisturise the eye area, leaving it softer and smoother.
  • Oil-absorbers: Kaolin and silica absorb excess oil, giving skin a matte finish.
  • Colouring agents: Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides & co give the concealer its colour. Each shade will contain more or less of these pigments to make it lighter/darker.

The powder is mainly made up of oil-absorbers like talc and silica that, again, absorb excess oil for a matte finish. They also help settle the concealer, so it won’t crease all over the place.

Texture

Very creamy, with just a hint of stiffness. The extra stiffness allows the concealer to adhere better to the skin so it stays put and doesn’t settle into fine lines.

Colour

I have Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit in Porcelain:

  • Porcelain: Very fair beige with neutral undertones. Suitable for very pale skin only.
  • Powder: Looks white in the pan, translucent on.

Pigmentation

It’s pigmented enough to easily cover up dark circles and puffiness.

Staying Power

I used the concealer on its own a couple of times, when I was in a rush. It holds up for around 7 hours before it starts ro terribly crease.

That’s why you need to set it with powder. Just a little dusting and everything stays put for 12 hours.

Fragrance

It’s fragrance-free.

How To Use It

Using a concealer brush, apply the concealer as close as possible to the lash line and on the innermost corner of the eye. Blend gently with your fingers. Dust powder on top with an eyeshadow blending brush.

Performance & Personal Opinion

I use Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit In Porcelain to cover my dark circles – not pimples, or anything else.

Its consistency is so creamy, it blends effortlessly on the delicate eye area. It’s also fairly moisturising, making it the perfect concealer for mature/dry skin types in need of the extra TLC.

I usually forget to use powder, so I like Bobbi Brown included one with the kit. No excuses now. Porcelain comes with a translucent white powder that settles the concealer without changing it colours. It’s just invisible, keeping everything in place without making you look fake or unnatural.

You dab a tiny amount on your tired eye area and, instantly, you look brighter and awake, ready to face the day. Your dark circles disappear and, as a bonus, your fine lines look smaller, too.

I do like the convenience of having both the concealer and powder in one case. But you have to be careful when you use them. The powder kicks up some dust that ends up in the concealer. Ops!
